For Nigeria, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, India, Kenya, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, Bookmaker checks the number's format when you save and explains the expected format if it does not match.

Numbering#

Each document type has a Prefix of up to 16 characters and a Next number of at least 1, with a Sequence Preview of the result. The next number can never be set below the current sequence, so a number is never issued twice. Document numbering explains when numbers are used.

Terms#

Each saved set has a Title, Content of up to 5,000 characters and an Applies to of All types or one document type. One set can be the default for each type, plus one default for all types. A new document takes the default for its own type first, then the all-types default. In the editor, Insert saved terms… replaces a document's terms with any saved set. Editing or deleting a set never changes documents that already used it.

Reminders#

Send payment reminders is off until you tick it, and turning it on asks which invoices it covers: only those sent from then on, or also the unpaid ones already sent. Below it are the Time of day and Time zone reminders go out in, Monday to Friday only, Quiet hours, the Most reminders per invoice and the Fewest days between reminders, addresses of your own to copy, and the reminders themselves, each with its timing, subject and message. The Preview fills the chosen reminder with sample details. A customer and an invoice can each have their own setting, which wins over this one. Payment reminders explains each part.

Templates#

Choose a Default template for each Document type, or its Standard layout — the look and wording Bookmaker gives that type out of the box. The choice saves as soon as you pick it. It applies whenever a document is started without naming a template: from Create, the command palette or a customer's page. Documents already written are never changed.
